Settling down into 2010 and George ponders the question of love via his deep crates of music. There's a spot of imaginary busking, armchair philosophy and an exclusive track from that forthcoming LP, "The Drifter". The album, due for release on April 26th, was mixed by Luke and Liam from Black Daniel and is going to be released on Mahuta Recordings. The title track and first single, “Liza”, were produced by Marcas Lancaster and there’s a return from Demurettes of old as well as fresh blood. November/December News

November/December News

A busy couple of months. As well as working with Ashley Beedle on a track for Ashley’s new project, George has recorded a duet with Anne from Coco Electrik. The track “On The Tip Of My Tongue” will appear on Coco Electriks new album next year and apparently it sounds incredible, like Lee Hazlewood meets Marlene Dietrich in the 25th Century . Nice!

George is also close to completing some new material with wunderkind producer Marcas Lancaster (see Soft Cell Remix LP). The boys are recording proper versions of some of this years’ live favourites, including ‘Dress Me Up’, ‘Mrs Jones’ and the insanely catchy ‘Liza, Do You Dream Of Me?’.

And finally, as if that wasn’t enough, the new video for George’s haunting electro ballad “Amazing” is now complete and will be released in December. DJ, graffiti and pop artist, filmmaker and general man about town Jonnie Lyle (Scratch, UK) is behind the video and it's a quirky masterpiece. Watch this space...

George Demure - Sorrow

George Demure - Sorrow

George Demure is back with the latest single from his successful debut album "Boomtown Medallion". This one is a cover of the Bowie classic "Sorrow".

With a helping hand from talented producer Aidan Love (Maps & Goldfrapp) Demure weaves an inspired tapestry which blends the classic song with a more contemorary soundscape. As one half of Soft Cell, Dave Ball was one of those producers who laid down the blueprints for an entire category of synthesizer based music. The single boasts a remix from Mr Ball that both compliments and reimagines George's original.

George Demure - Boomtown Medallion

George Demure - Boomtown Medallion

Descendant of an infamous Scottish folk singer, George spent 10 busy years at the forefront of Scotland's electronic music scene before moving to London in 2002. Essentially to further pursue his passion for music.

This move prompted a rediscovery of his love for guitars as well as discovering his warm and elegant singing voice. Equally adept behind a bank of drum machines as he is with acoustic guitars and tambourines, George's songs demonstrate an obsessive love of music, from Charlie Feathers to Lee Perry, Throbbing Gristle to Otis Redding - and his ability to weave a very particular lyrical slant in his music owes much to his love of literature.
